I don’t know about you but I know parades always get my appetite going!  St. Michael’s Catholic Church is hosting a Tybee Island Irish Heritage Parade tailgate plate sale from 1:30 pm to 5pm Saturday in the parish’s Butler Ave. parking lot.  The menu is highlighted by pulled pork sandwiches cooked onsite as part of a larger Boston butt sale by competitive BBQ team, Yes, Dear BBQ. Hot dogs and hamburgers, along with cold drinks, will also be available.

“We have hosted a successful parade tailgate for parishioners the last few years and felt a butt sale would allow us to reach out to the entire Tybee community,” said Adam Van Brimmer, president of the St. Michael’s Men’s Club. “The Yes, Dear team has won several local and regional barbecue competitions and their involvement guarantees a quality product.”  The plate sale is a fundraiser for the church youth group’s annual mission trip. Plates will include a sandwich and chips and cost $5. Quarts of pulled pork will also be available while they last for $15. Water and sodas will be sold for $1 each.
