Tybee Sponsors the Bounty!!

Head on down to historic River Street in Savannah to view and EVEN BOARD  the Tall Ships!! Tybee is excited to be sponsoring the HMS Bounty which was originally built as a movie prop in 1960 for the 1962 MGM release of “Mutiny on the Bounty”. This makes Bounty different than many tall ships in that her “tween” deck has 8′ foot ceilings making it easier for the film crew. As a result, Bounty has been hired for many films and documentaries like  Treasure Island, Yellowbeard, Sponge Bob Square Pants the Movie, Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean – Dead Man’s Chest just to name a few! In addition to commercial movies, Bounty has also been the stage for many documentaries. There’s something for everyone at the 2012 Savannah Tall Ships Challenge® with events beginning May 3rd, 2012 and ending May 7th.
