Winter Festivities on Tybee

There’s nothing like spending your Winter Holidays on Tybee! Though I don’t suggest packing your bathing suit, it’s still much warmer than up north and the entire island is just teeming with the Christmas spirit. Here’s a quick list of fun things to see and do if you’re lucky enough to be on Tybee for the Holidays:

On Sunday, December 14th you can find Santa on deck at Huc-a-Poos from 4-6pm. Even if you’ve been particularly naughty this year, you can still stop by for some hot chocolate, cookies, and don’t leave without trying a slice of their world famous pizza!

This Santa doesn't care if you've been naughty or nice.

If you still need to find that perfect gift, Tybee is a fantastic place to start looking! There are a wide variety of beach boutiques like Seaside Sisters and Shell Art as well as super unique places like Fish Art Gallery.

If you are going to be on Tybee December 20th, you have to go by A-J’s Dockside to witness the 8th Annual Tybee Island Tour de Lights Bike Parade. This is when Tybee residents and visitors deck out their bikes with tinsel and lights and tour the island for some holiday fun. The bikes will line up at A-J’s around 5pm and the bike parade is set to begin around 6:30pm.

December 21st is the date for The Tybee Island Floating Christmas Parade! Be sure to stop by The Crab Shack around high tide to watch the festively decorated boats cruise by the docks. It is truly an amazing sight and will really get you into the holiday spirit!

Staying on Tybee on Christmas Day? If you aren’t big on cooking there are other options available. Bernie’s Oyster House, Lighthouse Pizza, and The Sand Bar will all be open.

Tybee is the best place to ring in 2015. With island wide drink specials, live music, and more you can be assured that you will have a good time! Be sure to pace yourself so you will make it till midnight to watch the fireworks be set off from the Tybee Pier and Pavilion.

Happy New Year!!
