“A Community in the Aftermath of Hurricane Matthew” – Community Meeting

Forever Tybee, a community organization with a mission to provide factual information and education for the Tybee community, is excited to host an island-wide meeting on April 26. Sign-in and the Potluck Dinner starts at 6:00 pm. in the Old School Cafeteria, and the program will begin immediately afterward.

“A Community in the Aftermath of Hurricane Matthew” will take a look at the path of the recent hurricane, successes and challenges for residents, lessons learned, and plans for the future. Leading the conversation are Senior Meteorologist, John Wetherbee, WTOC; Jill Gambill, Coastal Community Resilience Specialist for UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant and the author of Georgia’s first sea level rise plan, Dennis Jones, Director, Chatham Emergency Management Agency (CEMA), and Mayor Jason Buelterman. The meeting is free of charge and everyone is invited to attend.
