The Tybee Post Theater presents the Savannah Community Theatre’s production of the Tony-award winning drama Doubt. This highly regarded drama won the prestigious Tony for Best Play and the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Best Play when it debuted on Broadway in 2005.

In this powerful and timely drama, Sister Aloysius, a Bronx school principal, takes matters into her own hands when she suspects Father Flynn of improper relations with one of the male students. Doubt is a gripping story of suspicion cast on a priest’s behavior that is less about scandal than about questions of moral certainty.

This story, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2005, was written by John Patrick Shanley, and also was made into a motion picture starring Meryl Streep, Amy Adams, and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Our theatrical production is directed by Carl Rosengart and produced by Tom Coleman, III. It stars Malinda K. Smith as Sister Aloysius Beauvier, David Berlin as Father Brendan Flynn, Maia Strickland Collins as Sister James, and Shirley Kelley as Mrs. Muller.

“An eloquent and provocative investigation of truth and consequences. A gripping mystery, tightly written.” —Time Out NY

Three performances only: Fri.-Sat., Feb. 1-2, 7:30 pm; Sun., Feb. 3, 3 pm Tickets $20.
