“The Poison Rose”
Everyone around here remembers those John Travolta sightings around the Savannah Historic District last spring and summer. Well, his Savannah-filmed noir thriller, The Poison Rose,” finally hits the big screen and we’re showing it over the three-day weekend.
John Travolta is Carson Phillips, an ex-football star turned PI, who’s got a soft spot for a lady in distress. Like the classic film noir tales spun by the masters, he takes on a routine missing person case which slowly reveals itself to be a complex interwoven web of crimes, suspects and dead bodies. When he discovers his long-lost daughter is the number one suspect, he races a ticking clock to save her, solve the murders, and uncover the town’s dirty secrets.
The film also stars Morgan Freeman and Brendan Fraser. Rated R.
Friday-Saturday, June 7-8, 7 pm; Sun., June 9, 3 & 7 pm. Tickets $8
