Love Seafood & Live Music? You definitely want to visit Historic River Street in Savannah, GA this May 2nd and 3rd! This is one of the most exciting Savannah events of the year. In addition to all the amazing seafood there are so many family friendly activities that have been planned.
Savannah’s own Jack Sparrow will be hosting a “Pirates in Training Class” , Old Savannah Tours will round up Forrest Gump for some photo opportunities, and The Ships of the Sea Museum will be presenting a living history exhibit!
The music is sure to be pretty amazing with the talents of Parrot Party, Damon and the Sh*t Kickers, Hair of the Dog, Keith & Ross, and The Whiskey Gentry. Jimmy Buffet covers, Zydeco, and some good old fashioned rock-n-roll with magnificent southern overtones will provide plenty of entertainment for the ears while you feast on all our local delicacies from these coastal waters!
The highlight of this festival for me is all the great seafood. Shrimp, crawfish, crabs, oysters, you name it and it will be there. This event was created way back in 1974 and you better believe that The Savannah Waterfront Association has managed to turn this festival into a favorite with both locals and visitors alike!
Weekend festivities kick off on Friday, May 2 from 4-10pm and continue on Saturday, May 3 from 10am-10pm. First Friday Fireworks presented by Wet Willie’s will begin at 9:30pm. River Street Seafood Fest will highlight coastal inspired art from regional artisans that will be displayed along Rousakis Plaza.
