Tickets to the 2015 Tybee Wine Festival are on sale now!

2015 Tybee Wine Festival The 2015 Tybee Wine Festival is an annual springtime celebration of wine and coastal cuisine set on postcard-perfect Tybee Island, the laid-back paradise located just 20 minutes east of historic Savannah.

Presented by the Tybee Post Theater, this year’s event, April 22-26, features five days of international wines, fine food, and, of course, live music set in five special venues across the island.

The festival, now in its seventh year, is bringing back some of its most popular events, including the intimate and elegant five-course wine-pairing dinner at the Tybee Island Social Club; the casual oysters and wine celebration beachside at Marlin Monroe’s Surfside Grill; and the Sunday champagne brunch at Tybee’s famous Crab Shack.

And this year, there’s something new. The festival kicks off on Earth Day, April 22, with an elegant “earth to table” dinner prepared and presented by four celebrity chefs in the Tybee Island Wedding Chapel’s Grand Ballroom. We’re calling it A Celebration of Earth and Vine, and it features four courses with perfectly matched wines preceded by a wine-tasting jazz reception.

And, as always, everyone will turn out for the centerpiece event, the Saturday afternoon Grand Wine Tasting on the beautiful grounds of the Tybee Island Light Station, for samplings of more than 100 international wines, tastings from our favorite Tybee restaurants, an enormous silent auction and live music on the festival stage.

The Tybee Wine Festival is the biggest annual fundraiser to benefit the restoration of the Tybee Post Theater. A 1930s movie house built for the soldiers of Fort Screven on Tybee Island, the historic theater will reopen this spring as a non-profit performing arts and movie venue.

Tickets go on sale Saturday, Feb. 14, Valentine’s Day online at www.tybeewinefestival.com or by phone at 912-663-1099.
