Thrilling Things to Do This Halloween

For kids throughout the country, Halloween marks the sweet start to the holiday season. Defined by costumes and candy, this kooky, creepy celebration is a fun time for communities to host haunted houses, decorate jack-o-lanterns and of course, dispense candy. Tybee Island is hosting a number of Halloween fests around the island this weekend. If your family needs an extra dose of spook to spark, then you’re at the right place. Here’s a quick round-up of frighteningly fun Halloween events that the whole family will enjoy.

Ghost Tour

One surefire way to kick off the Halloween holiday is to take a spine-chilling ghost tour in historic Savannah. No stranger to the paranormal, Savannah is prime place to enjoy a good scare this time of year. 6th Sense World and Ghosts & Gravestones are two reputable Savannah touring companies that promise to deliver the fear factor that families are looking for this holiday. Don your most ghostly attire and take one of Savannah’s best ghost tours to get in the Halloween spirit.

Trunk-or-Treat

The Tybee Island’s Memorial Park is the place to be on Halloween night. Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm, the island YMCA will host Trunk-or-Treat. Trunk or Treat swept the nation in years’ past as a safe and sound alternative to traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating. And with parts of the island still recovering from hurricane season, the Trunk-or-Treat event is a great way to ensure your little ones still get their candy fix this Halloween. Look forward to fun events, tricked-out trunks and of course, mounds and mounds of candy. Put on your best costume and don’t forget to bring a bag for the treats!
