My boyfriend and I are hoping to move to a small beach community. Tybee is absolutely our top pick. We would love to find a small, affordable home on the beach. Maybe a rent to own to start with. I have worked in the banking industry for 18 years, so I would love to find a position in a financial institution. Prior to that I was in food service for 15 years. My boyfriend of 10 years works for the City of Radcliff here in KY. He works closely with the city engineer. He works in storm water, public works, mapping, and just about anything else they throw at him. Finding work and a home on Tybee Island would be a dream come true. I would appreciate any information you can give me. Thank you.

Is there any inexpensive rentals that allow small pets for seasonal workers?

Hi Rhonda, sadly there are not that many monthly rentals left and those that are, are almost all exclusively no pets. This has become a bit of a problem on the island.

I love it there too, but the properties are pretty high and I am not sure how the salaries are in comparison to the north. Such a beautiful and peaceful place.

Hi Peggy, you shouldn’t have a hard time finding work in the medical fields in Savannah. Memorial Health & St. Joseph Candler are our two main hospitals and Memorial is one of the largest employers as it is a teaching hospital.

I have recently lost my husband and it has been a dream of mine to come to tybee for a seasonal job. I often visited tybee as a child and introduced my husband to the island through the years. I am a people person and would love the opportunity to be a part of the island.
