[Tybee Island, GA] The Tybee Cottage Art Gallery is proud to present ‘Turtle Tracks’ in celebration of their first year anniversary!

Tybee Cottage Art Gallery is a locally owned, cooperative art gallery featuring the work of artists from around the South Georgia Coastal Region. The mediums represented by these co-op artists include oil paintings, acrylics, watercolors, fine art photography, pottery and leather crafts.

The Gallery is also supported by a group of consignment artists including local jewelers, metalworkers, woodworkers and more.

“Turtles are our best-selling subject and we are delighted to celebrate our anniversary by supporting the efforts of the Tybee Marine Science Center in their turtle research, rescue and educational programs” says gallery Marketing Director, Alfie Wace. “For the entire month of September, 10% of the profits from the sale of any turtle art item will be donated to the Marine Science Center. In turn, the Marine Science Center is collaborating with the Gallery by donating a one-year family membership to a lucky drawing winner.”

Tybee Cottage Art Gallery is owned by Judy Trout, who has lived on Tybee with her husband Ed for 18 years. Judy was active in setting up a volunteer art program in the Vidalia City School System and taught in Toombs County schools for 20 years, using art with students as a vehicle for learning. Judy works in various mediums, including watercolor. Her present focus is encaustic painting, an ancient art, which uses hot wax as the painting medium. Her work has been displayed in several Tybee galleries. Judy’s vision for the Tybee Cottage Art Gallery is that it will be a place for local and regional artists to display and sell their work. She is proud of all he artists for making the gallery so successful in its first year.

So glad I got a chance to get a jump on “Turtle Tracks” with my purchase of “Professor Turtle” by Tybee Cottage Art Gallery artist Beth Hegeman! He’s now hanging out in my beach themed bathroom back in Kentucky! What a great gallery!
